Hardee's Brings Back Burger Chef's "Big Shef"!

The hit series“Mad Men" had the latest season setting is based on Burger Chef, where Draper pitches the 1000th location opening.

I have been following the Burger Chef season and can't believe, like the Howard Johnson motor Lodge season, this is so great to recreate such missed marvels in post-modern consumerism.

I think my family preferred Burger Chef, and when it closed our business went to McDonald’s.

Lets get down to the real story, if you recall the Big Mac imitation Big Shef burger with great fondness, then flee to Indianapolis, where Hardee's is serving it as a limited time menu offer.

Burger Chef started life in Indianapolis, where the light still burns. After opening more than 1000 units nationally, General Foods Corporation sold Burger Chef to Hardee’s in 1982. The last unit was converted in 1996 just outside Nashville, Tennessee.

Lets be realistic, I bet the only two Atlanta-area Hardee’s will not have any intention on offing the burger to “Mad Men” enthusiasts.

Dr.Pepper Vanilla Float Released!

Dr Pepper hasn’t released a new flavor since the 2000s. Ah, those were the days, with the can sported to classic logo, anyways. There was Dr Pepper Red Fusion, Diet Cherry Chocolate, Cherry Vanilla, Berries & Cream, were fantastic, but the flavors are getting harder and harder to find.

Luckily, the creators at Pepsico is bring its loyal consumers Dr Pepper Vanilla Float, which hits shelves in mid-May.

As "mid-may" pasted yesterday, I did see the limited edition soda at Meijer, the supermarket chain in Chicago-land, but have also heard its been spotted, not as a soda, but as a slushier, icier concoction.

Impulsive Buy reader, Sldy, spotted the Dr Pepper Vanilla Float Freeze at a Taco Bell in St. Louis, Missouri.
While I am not sure if this is a limited-time offer, I certainly will be keeping a lookout for the new drink at  Taco Bells in our area.

It will bring together Dr Pepper and the flavor of vanilla ice cream. It’ll be available in 20-ounce bottles, 2-liter bottles, and 12-ounce 12 packs.

Review:
This Dr.Pepper resembles the taste of Faygo Cream Soda or a heavier syrup vanilla Coke.
